Healing a Royal Son
Fr. Peter Lenox

October 24, 2023
Fr. Peter Lenox, the Vicar of Liturgy and Worship, was the guest celebrant on Sunday, October 15th. In his Sermon on the Gospel of the Healing of the Royal Official’s Son, Fr. Lenox gave 3 reasons for Jesus answering this prayer of a desperate father:
1. The Royal Official recognizes the authority of Jesus by calling him Lord.
2. The Official comes before Our Lord with faith and obedience.
3. There is great significance for the hour in which the child was healed.
In his closing remarks, Fr. Lenox exhorted those in attendance, “We must depend on what is invisible to us.”
