Please join us in celebrating Celtic music with our friend Jesse Ofgang and his music partner, Kevin Elam.

Two of the Premier Celtic musicians in the United States, piper and multi-instrumentalist Jesse Ofgang and the 2019 All-Ireland singing champion Kevin Elam, will join forces for a festive concert tour featuring traditional and contemporary tunes and songs from Celtic nations.

More about these great musicians:

Jesse Ofgang is a lifelong musician with an unwavering passion for Celtic instruments. I began playing the bagpipes at age 12 and earned the rank of Open grade professional bagpiper only 7 years later, the highest level of competition available. In 2021, I proudly earned my Master’s Degree in Scottish Music and Bagpipe Performance from the esteemed Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, building upon my undergraduate degree in Jazz Drum Kit from Western Connecticut State University.

My musical journey has led me to explore a diverse array of instruments, including the great highland bagpipes, uilleann bagpipes, various percussion instruments, border pipes, and whistles. Beyond these, I find joy in playing the Irish flute, organ, guitar, and piano.

With MacTalla Mor, I had the privilege of headlining at renowned venues such as Caesar’s Palace Las Vegas, Pete Seeger’s Clearwater festival, ESPN studios, and many other prestigious music halls. I also recorded and released 4 studio albums while playing with MacTalla Mor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxQKzs-ELHw

Kevin Elam is a multi-instrumentalist and 2019 All-Ireland Champion in Men’s Singing. Although he boasts a strong background in classical piano and a degree in Jazz studies, Kevin is rooted in Irish traditional music. In addition to playing the tin whistle, guitar, mandolin and banjo, Kevin has also honed his skills as a singer and interpreter of Irish traditional song, cultivating a significant repertoire of ballads.

Performance credits include AMP by Strathmore, Hylton Performing Arts Center, the Music Center at Strathmore, the Fairfax CCE Irish Folk Fest, the Washington Folk Fest, the Takoma Park Folk Fest, the Virginia Scottish Games, Appaloosa Festival, the Kennedy Center, the National Gallery of Art, and many more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X06fV08UcU8
