Inspiring Faith Through Art

Since its establishment in 2022, our program offers a unique creative journey for children aged 5-8, 8-14, and 14+. We blend the beauty of Catholic sacred art with the joy of drawing and painting, creating a one-of-a-kind experience. We believe in the power of art to convey the beauty of faith and the richness of Catholic tradition. Our experienced teachers provide quality instruction, inspiring young artists while fostering their artistic skills and a deeper connection to their faith.

The Guild Fine Art Lectures

Encountering Mary in Art

Three-part lecture series designed for church groups and schools exploring the representation of Mary’s life in Western art and examining the theology and traditions informing those works of art.

  • Mary’s Childhood to the Annunciation
  • Mary as Young Mother
  • Mary at the Foot of the Cross and the Assumption

St. Anne, Our Spiritual Grandmother

In the Catholic Tradition, Saint Anne has a special role as the mother of Mary. This is a single lecture or interactive presentation designed for church groups, schools, and others. It explores the development of the representation of Saint Anne in Western art and examines the theology and traditions informing those works of art.

Kathleen Leitão is a museum educator and artist who has developed and led a wide range of programs working with fine art in museum galleries and classrooms. “Working in university museums and visiting many of the finest museums, churches, and cities in the history of Western art have led me to study how Christian art reflects the theology and traditions of the Catholic Church. I have enjoyed developing and presenting a series of lectures on Encountering Mary in Art and, more recently, on Saint Anne in Art.”
