"For this I was Begotten, For this I came into the World."
Fr. Michael Clark

In his Sermon for the Feast of Christ the King, Fr. Clark first pointed to the Gospel of John Chapter 18 and the translation of the words of Jesus to Pilate, “For this I was born.”  In the Greek translation, the verb is ginomai, which gives a more precise meaning, begotten.  “The King, begotten of the Father before all ages, is made visible to us….What kind of Kingdom?  What kind of King?”  Fr. Clark then unpacked the words from Isaiah 9 in describing His Kingship:
1. Wonder Counselor
2. Mighty God
3. Everlasting Father
4. Prince of Peace

“Everything He says is right; Everything He says is just; Everything He says is wise; Everything He says is loving.”
