Spirit of God - Sermon for July 9th 2023
Fr. Michael Clark

July 18, 2023

Fr. Clark’s Sermon for the Sixth Sunday after Pentecost focuses on St. Paul’s Letter to the Romans, giving its historical background as a true letter written from Corinth. In Baptism, we are Baptized into Christ’s death, dying to the Old Man and rising into new life in the Spirit.

Here is an excerpt from his Sermon:

“The Spirit of God is alive in you. The Spirit of God provides faith within you and makes you live like Christ. That could be a praecipe of St. Paul’s Letter to the Romans from Chapters 5 – 8. In order to live like Christ, you need to live your whole life like Christ, which means you must die; you must be buried; you must rise, and you must walk in newness of life. The “Old Man” must die to sin and be buried in order to rise. And when he rises, when the New Man rises, he walks in newness of life, life unto God.”
