The Literary Catholic
The Literary Catholic Parish Reading Program is a unique opportunity for personal growth and spiritual development. It’s a chance to unpack life-changing stories from centuries of Catholic literature, connecting you to God and inspiring your faith and imagination. We meet you where you are and move forward together, inspiring you to reach new heights in your faith journey.
The Literary Catholic is a way to deliberately schedule downtime and connect with others.
• The Guild is committed to supporting readers at all levels. We’ve created an online Parish Guide that provides resources and suggestions for books to consider. Whether you’re a seasoned reader or just starting your journey with Catholic literature, we’re here to help you every step of the way, ensuring you feel confident and reassured in your participation.
• With the invaluable support of The Center for Catholic Studies at Sacred Heart University, the Literary Catholic is developing a series of filmed interviews. Literature professors and other community members will discuss specific works of Catholic literature. Videos will be available online to accompany readers.
• The Guild is promoting a Diocesan-wide read of Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh, with a reading guide developed by The Center for Catholic Studies and an interview with Peter Sinclair, Ph.D., Sacred Heart University.
